alarm clocks

-dekad (old-fashioned crank, no batteries)

..from Ikea will always, always wake you up. trouble is, it ticks so loud, sometimes I wonder if I can ever go to sleep.

update: alarm clock seems to stop working nowadays. (has been barely a year.)

Computer-Related

usb drives

-lexar (security/cleanup system)
-sony (sleeker look)
-sandisk (strong cover)

lexar's security/cleanup system is pretty nice. shredding allows for the renewal of lost space taken up by previously deleted files. this also permanently deletes any previously deleted files (because we all know that the retrieval of simple drop-in-trash-bin items is all too possible.)

sony gets scratched way too easily. no good.

sandisk's cover's tempting..it's pretty tough for wear and tear. pretty much provides the maximum space they advertise, unlike lexar, which uses up some of it to cover for the programs within the drive.

->conclusion: i'd keep a lexar at home and carry around a sandisk.

you almost never need more than 512 mb for data needed to be frequently transported, so that's the size i'd go with.*

*not to be taken into consideration when 1 gb pieces are on sale. :)
